How to Care for Your Invisalign Aligners

If you took a time machine back thirty or so years and looked at teeth straightening solutions, you’d find that options were rather limited. Most people young and old relied on traditional metal braces, which while effective, can be a bit of a pain to wear and take care of. Fortunately, in modern times, folks have access to alternatives, including Invisalign, which uses less obtrusive, easy-to-care for clear liners to slowly straighten out teeth.

That said, Invisalign liners do require some upkeep and effort. First, they should be kept clean.

You can gently brush invisible liners with a toothbrush and some toothpaste. Be careful not to go overboard, however, as too much scrubbing could cause damage. There are also a variety of cleaning tablets and cleaning solutions that you can use to soak your liners. These cleaning solutions make it relatively easy to keep liners clean, especially compared to traditional metal braces.

Another thing to keep in mind is ensuring that the liners are on properly. You can use your fingers to gently push the aligners into place and to make sure that they are snug. It’s especially wise to spend time making sure your liners are on correctly before heading to bed.
